报告摘要:

Qubits are two-level quantum systems that can be prepared in superpositions of quantum states,entangledtogether using quantum-logic gates, and they are building blocks of quantum computers and other quantum technologies.Among the many possible qubit systems, semiconductor based solid-state spin qubit is particularly interesting to semiconductor companies due to compatibility of materials, well developed fabrication processesand other significant merits. While traditional semiconductor transistor design is assisted by technology computer-aided design (TCAD) tools, the conventional TCAD simulation packages are seriously challenged when comes to predict operations of solid-state spin qubits which leverages coherence, superposition, and entanglement-effects that are not captured in available TCAD software. In this seminar, I shall present our research and development of the first quantum-TCAD(QTCAD) tool for simulating QD based spin-qubits, enabling to predictthe performance of them at the design stage before their practical fabrication.As an application, QTCAD is applied to analyze the properties of spin qubit implemented in Si ambipolar FinFET.

报告人简介:

郭鸿,麦吉尔大学讲座教授,加拿大皇家科学院院士,美国物理学会会士,深圳大学访问教授。1976年四川师范大学本科,1981年通过CUSPEA赴美留学,获匹兹堡大学博士学位,研究领域:纳米电子输运理论、材料物理和计算物理等。论文入选Physical ReviewB杂志五十年里程碑式论文。
